The first thing that comes to mind when I think of
Anguilla
is perfect paradise. It is by far the most beautiful island I've visited to date. Anguilla's not for shopping...it's for ultimate relaxation. This is where you want to go to getaway from everything and just enjoy being One with the Sun and Sea. The bluest of blue hues of glassy water, white, pristine beaches, and miles of unspoiled peace and quiet -- all these things and more await you on this island. The only thing you want to do on this island is stay on Shoal Bay...forever... Want to learn more? Visit Anguilla's official tourism site

Getting there: Most major US airports have either direct or connection flights to St. Maarten, a hop from Anguilla. Indeed, Anguilla's less than 30 minutes by ferry from St. Maarten. The waters between the islands are calm so the ride is relatively smoothe. St. Maarten and Anguilla are so close that you can clearly see hilly St. Maarten from the flatter Anguilla just about any day of the week. Spend the day or stay over at one of the local hotels there. Anguillan hotels are quite pricey but well worth it. If you'd like to stay on Anguilla, check out hotel reviews on
